Fees for band membership are $30 each year and approximately $35 dollars for a concert shirt. The band's working season usually runs from February to December.

Community Support:

The band incurs many costs through out a concert season, including the costs of maintaining its' music library, staging various concert sites, printing programs and posters, the Music Director’s stipend and liability insurance. Members of the community are invited to make donations to the band using the contact page link below.

About the Capitol Pops

Since 1997, the Capitol Pops Concert Band (CPCB) has performed a diverse, high-quality, repertoire of, well-prepared music for thousands of concert-goers throughout Northern California.

Based in Fair Oaks, California, the band has been under the leadership of Director Jerry Lopes since its inception. It's a self-supporting, all-volunteer band of some 70 members, including students, and the musicians represent a wide cross-section of greater metropolitan Sacramento area. Tax deductible donations to the CPCB scholarship fund provide private music lessons for interested students.

The band was certified a California Public Benefit Corporation in March 2003 and granted federal nonprofit status in June 2004. Band business is overseen by a CPCB Council elected by the membership, and the band is a member of the Sacramento Valley Symphonic Band Association and the Association of Concert Bands.
